beginning of work in progressThe cool autumn breeze swept the crimson leaves in a mini-vortex several feet in front of the rusting fire hydrant. Twirling up and up in the violent vortex, then fluttering all over the street, like the shrapnel and bombshells that rained explosive death upon the city hours before. The city of Rohumbeh, once the glittering gemstone capital of Terra-Alpha, lay in smoldering gray ash. The few common folk to survive were a handful of small families from the basement levels of duplex XVI, on the outskirts of Rohumbeh.
